Yes you can!

I just wanted to congratulate Barack Obama on his presidential nomination last night. I look forward to the changes he looks to bring to the US. I also want to congratulate John McCain on a well run campaign. I know a lot of my friends here in Canada were watching the results as well!
I also am excited there was a record turnout at the polls this election. It is so important to get out and vote, have your voice heard, its your future!
Great job by both parties, and good luck USA!

So what does everyone think? Happy? Sad? Mad?

I’m no expert on politics in the US, but just from listening to Obama’s winners speech, he seems to be an inspirational president and will no doubt improve the whole world, afterall, the president of the United States pretty much runs the world, not just the country!

I’m happy to be a part of history, you know, first black US president and all that jazz. But little by little we’re losing this great nation and this is just another incremental blow by socialist minded politicians. It’s a slippery slope that we’re on and with a leader such as this and a mafia like senate behind him…not good my friends.
Please God, prove me wrong.
@Lee - You’re right, he is very inspirational. VERY charismatic. He’s a rock star. A pop culture icon. That scares the shit out of me. Unfortunately a good, motivating speaker doesn’t translate to a good leader. Tony Robbins is VERY inspirational but do you want him at the helm of the whole country? We’d all be dancing in pixie fields screaming peace, love, peace while we’re raped and pillaged by other countries dying to take advantage of us.
Again, and I am sincere when I say this, I hope myself and all who share my views are humbled by an amazingly successful 4 years ahead.

I am extremely excited to see how Obama does as the president. I think he will be very successful. He seems to know what to do and he has the personality to do it. Having Joe Bidden as his VP is extremely impressive. Joe Bidden is a foreign policy expert and he has a lot of connections that Obama will be able to utilize to bring this country back!
@Eric - In a nutshell, Marx said that the the ideal state of any nation is Communism. You progress from Capitalism, to socialism, to communism. What causes a shift between stages is a revolution by the people.
I make this point because you mentioned we are moving towards Socialism, was this our “revolution”? With all the problems we have financially, healthcare wise, etc. Do you feel that we are in fact moving towards socialism?
When you look back on many country’s that were socialist they became communists. Russia comes to mind.
Just wanted to throw you some food for thought.

Anyone who has actually researched both party’s candidates know that Obama is as Left Wing Socialist as one can get. It has been proven time and time again. This country is headed towards the Socialist party. This is not a good thing. Unfortunately the only criteria to vote is that you be an 18 year old citizen, not to actually have a free thinking brain as not to become brainwashed by the left wing media.
God please save our country from Barry O.
Countdown to 2012 has begun. It’s going to be a very long and miserable 4 years ahead for anyone who actually works for a living.
