Actually Eric, Travis, and myself have all switched to Media Temple and this is the average experience. They are always on top of any thing you call about.
Maybe you should switch.

I switched to Media Temple a few months ago and while they’ve been having some problems with their upgrades, they are by far the best hosting company I’ve ever used. Their service sets them far apart from the other 8+ hosting companies I’ve used in past years.
Unfortunately I’m not very happy this far with the service. They have good customer service, but the actual hosting has been pretty shitty. I hope they get their upgrades panned out so I can keep using ‘em.
I’ve been debating on switching to media temple. We currently use Dreamhost for our business hosting servers and I’m testing the waters in Lunar Pages with my own personal site. I’m just getting fed up with Dreamhost recently constant downtimes. Keep up posted if they keep up the good work.
The same guy, Michael Handa, just got in touch with me and said they moved YGG to a new server and that it should fix all of our recent problems. Woohoo!
They seem to have reviews all over the place. 1 second their great, the next they suck and then their the best of the best again. Thats how I felt about dreamhost.
MediaTemple has always had stellar support, but the new Grid Hosting sounds problematic thus far.

I use MediaTemple web hosting and they’re great. Compared to other hosting company’s. I had a Grid Server account but moved to a Dedicated Virtual and there support staff really help me out.
We’ve hosted a few sites at Media Temple for the past four years and our experience has been a real tossup. I’ve had pretty good support and painfully bad support. I’ve gotten a lot of “help” messages from your man, Michael Handa; most of them ending with the same final sentence above. Think it’s part of his email signature. In my experience, if you have anything remotely technical to ask MT, you have to wade through the horde of entry level support agents to get to someone who can speak to your issue intelligently. I went through five support agents recently because our app stopped sending out email. Turns out MT stopped supporting the native PHP mail function, seemingly out of the blue. The amazing thing is that the first four agents didn’t even appear to know what the PHP mail function was (or that they had stopped supporting it). Painful. However, honestly, the only better hosting experience I’ve had with another company was for an account in the $200 a month range. So, you definitely get what you pay for.

Many companies write words like those, but how many actually keep their words when they have problems ? :)
This week I had a problem with my hosting and since then 2 day’s passed and I still can’t access my FTP.

I put in a request to MT 2 days ago and they haven’t responded to me. I am NOT impressed this week.
