Ideas & Concepts: My 2nd 2007 Project (Poll)

This idea was brought to me by someone else, but it's open for me to develop. The idea:
A web 2.0 Polling site with the concept of Digg. Polls with the most votes or most comments make it to the homepage. Anyone can start a poll and anyone can vote. It might be a cool concept to have closed polls for a close knit of friends too but just ideas right now. Commentable section under each poll. Polls can have video feeds (say we wanted to vote on which of the 2007 trailers in the "YGG Blog" section we would see.), pictures wouldnt be hard to do either. Like a "which drawing of mine do you like better thing...." There would be tagged/popular polls for quick searching.
I'd like to market this towards the social network/digg/youtube crowd...so basically anyone with a computer. Also, I could see the results of polls being a huge marketing tool for businesses.
All this free for anyone to do. I feel potential here.
Brainstormed a couple of domains but looking for something a little edgy and unique.
pollmamma.com (there is a polldaddy which is kinda like this concept but not as open)

a 2.0 site like that already exists
I'll have to search to find the domain.

There's one gigantic one which owns the market. Think it starts with a w. I'll search for it.

When it comes to the idea that you described I'm not too big a fan of it. I think I read about where the idea started on YE somewhere and wasn't taken by it there either.
Whenever an idea is described as something already successful for another market or topic, it's a really tough sell. Digg for polls doesn't do it for me.
The amount of time to build it and the potential I see isn't worth the trouble.
Of course, I could be wrong. I have been wrong many times, but I've been right twice as much. Just my opinion.

I didn't realize there were already quite a few sites like this. I'll put this idea on the back burner.
