Grooveshark is the an online music community that allows users to download mp3s and receive compensation for sharing songs in a legal network. Grooveshark aims to be the first legal alternative to illegal networks that matches and exceeds the experience provided by illegal networks through the addition of music discovery, social networking, and free-full length streaming.

And well getting paid for sharing music sounds pretty awesome to me. And finding music off other users that I forgot about is also pretty awesome.

And believe it or not, they didn’t pay us to review their site. We just really love it!

Technically you get paid for sharing, not for listening. :)

Sounds pretty awesome, but how do they keep the RIAA happy???

  5. Jay Says:

By paying. “Everybody gets paid” - artists, labels, users

Interesting, I was wondering how long it would be before this model surfaced. It seems like it would work quite well, so I guess we shall see.

    Thanks for the link!
