Bye bye Business 2.0

I honestly didn’t see this coming, but Business 2.0 is to close after the October issue.
TechCrunch states…
There previously has been some rumors that Business 2.0 would be taken over by a new publisher, however it appears that Time has decided to kill the magazine (as the NY Times suggests) so as to not provide a ready made magazine and subscriber list to a competitor.
Check out TC’s brief write up about it here.

Loved this magazine since I first started reading it way back in high school. Glad I didn’t renew my subscription when prompted last month.
Would have been nice to have seen them at least put it up for sale and see if anyone wanted to step in.
Watch for plenty of the full-time writers to fly solo and make a move like Om Malik has.

It’s unfortunate after there was such a huge response on the Facebook group that they still went through with a full shutdown of this baby. Was good while it lasted… even an online version remaining wouldn’t have been so bad as this.

It will be a sad day when my last issue arrives. I had renewed my subscription only a few months back. I wonder what they are going to do about all the people who have started a new subscription or renewed in the last month or so. Talk about taking their readers for their money!
Sad to see it go. Always enjoyed it!

Really liked this magazine and read it very often. I can understand why they would kill it rather than sell it. That magazine would offer another company a good competitive advantage.
Hard to see it go because it was a nice easy and fun to read magazine.
