Was Apple on The Sopranos?

Written by: Travis  |  Category: Entreprenews

Engadget provided some great play-by-play coverage on the Apple WWDC. It wasn’t the most exciting event from Jobs, hence the Sopranos reference, but Apple did manage to launch an almost entirely new website in the background.

It takes quite a bit of getting used to with its enormous usage of AJAX, but give it a try and see what you think:

The new Apple website.

Oh, and for all the web devs out there…….Apple has just solidified 1024×768 as the standard resolution to start with. Bon voyage 800×600! Clear your desk for a new 19″ or 23″. You’ll need it.

I love the new site! They also released Safari for Windows. You can download the beta at www.apple.com/safari

I installed it on an XP SP2 box I have at my office and it’s so buggy it’s unusable. It seems to be a 50/50 problem and it appears it’s related to some font files. Give it a shot though.

Using Safari right now. Seems a bit quicker.

One big bug though: When the window is dragged to my second monitor and maximized, it hides itself off the edge of the screen.

Even if that was fixed, I think I’ll be staying with Firefox.

    Good for testing purposes nonetheless.
