To infinity and…plus 1?

Yahoo recently announced that they’re expanding their e-mail storage to “infinity”. Google will soon 1 up them, literally. Read the story here

    I really wish gmail would start adding more functions to gmail. I wish it were more complete so that it could replace something like Outlook.

    I guess its worth it if you store over +150K messages in your inbox (the roughly estimated maximum for Google’s current gmail limit).

    I see this as more of a marketing tactic, similar to that used by broadband companies (the ones who say “high speed - 8Mbps”, but then cap you off when you download a few songs for exceeding bandwidth).

    Until this unlimited package is offered to web-based storage in general, I don’t have much interest. The day I can upload my entire DVD and music collection to the web, and have access anywhere… well… then we can talk :)
