The realistic VC guide

“There are actually very very few business problems that can be solved with money.”

Saw this come across my RSS today and had to share it. It’s The realistic entrepreneur’s guide to venture capital by Seth Godin. It’s a 15 point list to get your head straight about venture capital. Great read.

Great post Eric, it would be nice if we could get our own (Micro) Angel investor group started.

    Hi Eric

Seth Godin is brilliant isn’t he?

PS I have started my first blog competition - for a free tailored shirt - if you’re interested. :)

I don’t understand why everyone wants VC. Especially in the beginning. Why not do everything you possibly can to keep as much of the equity of your company as you can. Because VC is only going to pressure you to sell and when you do you are going to only get a very small cut if that.

Agree with Aaron. Go make your business profitable from the get go and have investors and buyers find you. I don’t need any more people looking over my shoulder, I have enough pressure to pay the mortgage without a mil or 2 to a VC.
