Clinton’s plan to over-populate the U.S.

Hillary Clinton is a douche

Hillary Clinton’s big idea for the week is to give every U.S. baby a $5,000 “baby bond” the day they are born. The idea is to have it pay for future college tuition or buying a home.

She says it will help Americans get back into the swing of “savings”. I think it will get Americans back into the swing of abusing government funds. We all know there’s enough of that going on already.

I’m interested to hear your thoughts on this. Spill it in the comments.

    What a joke…a truly stupid idea by the “smartest woman” on the planet.

    I’ve got a better idea: PRIVATIZE social security…or at a minimum, just let the American people have SOME control over it. Just think if you had all of the money you’ve already paid into the system in a simple, private bank account earning 2-3% interest….or better yet, in quality mutual munds.

    Agreed. That’s a better start.

    God help us if she by some miracle makes it into the Oval Office.

    Yes, I am not going to vote for her.

    But I feel that Ron Paul is another, “Make marijuana legal” vote sucker-upper. Meaning, all college students vote for him to leak the true powerful votes away from who is really going to have a possibility of being into office.

    Reminds me of the Baby Bonus in Australia in a way

    A $5,000 bond that the kid couldn’t touch might be good for college tuition…

    But here’s an idea… In Aus 75% of our University fees are paid for by the government. The other 25% is also paid by the govt, but we have to pay it back in our taxes once we pass a certain income threshold (Currently.. A$37k I think)

    If we don’t make that much per year, we never pay the debt back… That simple. Also the debt is interest free, only indexed. It’s a very handy system and means that everyone can get in on the same level footing, without having to front up cash. It means poor kids can easily break the poverty cycle.

    Im writing from Europe. It seems to me that is it better to give children money than to ignore them, like Bush did with the health care for the poor. When will you ever learn? Oh, how I hate republicans…

    And by the way. Youre out of my feed.

    Bitch is crazy. Good thinking Hillary. Give every one of the 4,112,052 (www.cdc.gov) babies born every year in America, $5,000 of government funds. I’ll save you the trouble. That’s $20,560,260,000 a year. That’s a genius way to get our country out of debt. Bitch.

    Bad idea. We need less government programs, not more.

    @ L.M.J - Are you really that offended by one political view offered by Eric, so much that you would throw a tantrum? Sad.

    I’ve been looking at pruning my list of feeds lately, and YGG was on the chopping block.

    I’m no fan of Hillary, but with a post like this in a forum that’s supposed to be about “helping entrepreneurs young at heart better their small businesses”…

    You’re gone.

    @L.M.J - Wow, bitter. First of all I never said I was a republican and denouncing one of Hillary’s hairbrain idea is just as much a democrat move. You’d know that if you lived here. You’d also know that we have serious foster home abuse because the more foster home kids you raise, the more money you get each month from the government. Imagine how well it’s going to work when you tell those same people they can get $5,000 a pop for fornicating/reproducing?

    @Ben - If an idea like this ever became a reality it would have serious ramifications and effects on business in the U.S. If you can’t handle opinions, read newspapers not blogs.

    @Christian - Thanks for the backup. My thoughts exactly.

    *Snaps* to you Eric for putting something out there that sparks such conversation! Also, kudos for the duche bag graphics.
    Coming from the city where a woman brutally murdered her mentally handicapped foster child and continued collecting checks for a month before she was arrested, I’m going to go ahead and say that this is a TERRIBLE IDEA. File this in the same drawer with Hilary’s original “health plan” when she was last in the White House. Yikes!
    As for Ben and LMJ, reading and talking about people’s views that are different from your own only makes you smarter. Since you won’t be reading this anymore because your views weren’t the same, I guess we’re only left with one conclusion…

    @Eric
    Your comment to LMJ, about people getting $5000 for having a child. That’s not how this plan works. The child gets $5000, not the parent. The foster home issue is a red herring.

    As for not being able to handle opinions, I used to read YGG because it had good S:N about a topic I cared about. Its value has waned lately, and this was just the last nail in the coffin for my removal of YGG from my feeds.

    @Amy
    I obviously stuck around to finish this discussion. But reading and talking about views that are different from my own will make me smarter if there is an intelligent discussion. This post and the ensuing discussion are so filled with vitriolic fervor that there is realistically nothing to be learned except intolerance and anger.

    I’m sure that, with the label of ‘douche bag’ (which you support) is meant to encourage intellectual discussion. Don’t hold other people to a standard to which you do not hold yourself.

    @Christian
    We need the -right- government programs, and we need them to be properly implemented. Maybe that’s less, maybe that’s more… maybe that’s exactly what we’ve got, we just have to fix them.

    @All
    We can look at this constructively and try to learn what’s good about this idea — the underlying principle of caring for our children and our community is a positive thing (I hope that that won’t be debated). Maybe this is the wrong way to go about it. How can we fix the problems that Hillary is trying to address? Are they even the right problems?

    Not only is Clinton’s socialistic idea unconstitutional, it is also too idealistic. Clinton is playing with people’s emotions whilst at the same time making the evil Republicans look more evil by opposing giving money to babies. The people who will defend this will defend it exclusively on a emotional basis, not on rationality, which I’m assuming is Clinton’s primary goal. This for me only makes Clinton look more like a two-faced witch.

    I have no problem having this idea be applied to State government. I only highly oppose it being applied to the Fed.

    To L.M.J. : My wife is an inner city school teacher, and your belief that poor kids in the U.S. don’t have access to healthcare is a joke! ALL of the poor kids in her class are covered…hospitals do not turn away people. Plus, if parents actually give a damn, they have access to free immunizations, check-ups, etc.

    The “it’s for the kids” motto is so old…and so untrue.

    Carl makes a very valid point our country is already is so much debt, you also would have to add in the salaries of the people that would have to be hired to implement such a huge project.

    Eric I love your comment about if you can’t handle opinions read the newspaper.

    I don’t think this plan sets any steps to get people into the tradition of savings it sets a precedent of handouts.

    @elysa - Bingo. It’s much deeper than it seems which ties into Audarius comment…

    @Audarius - Double bingo. Typical Clinton rhetoric and it’s only going to get more unbearable as the election approaches. Everything that comes out of her mouth is deliberately used and strategically timed to aid her and her campaign, nothing more, nothing less.

    @Ben - Your “take my ball and go home” attitude regarding our RSS feed is just plain ‘ol silly :)

    This has been implemented in Australia and has begun to turn around the declining birth rate which is affecting most of the western world. In fact the OECD mentioned that Australia is the only western nation to have an increasing birth rate. Our western economies need to pick up the birth rate otherwise we will feel the full effects of an ageing population; poverty will increase due to the fact that the likes of social security will not be able to afford to pay pensions to such a large proportion of the population. I have come across reports that the U.S Social Security system is already suffering and is not too far from hitting the red. Need I say that controls are needed for those who are simply chasing money as the welfare of the children is of the essence. It is absolutely essential that western nations like the U.S, Canada, Australia and the EU increase their birth rates other wise the consequences could be detrimental to the wealth and stabillity of the world.
