We love Retail Me Not

RetailMeNot.com - Coupon codes

All too often, usually right before we hit the “pay now” button, we find ourselves ransacking search engines hoping to find a coupon code saving us a few bones on that Threadless T, order of biz cards, domain name, or Text Link Ad. It’s usually hit and miss, and often times the search engines aren’t as relevant as we’d like.

Enter RetailMeNot. The search doesn’t get any easier, just type in the URL of the store you’re shopping at and boom, a list of all known codes and their success rate. Saving a $1.32 just got a whole lot easier.

Freelance Switch by Eden.cc

Freelance Switch

FreelanceSwitch is a great site not just for the content but for the story behind it. The creative company behind FreelanceSwitch is Eden.cc and behind the company are some good friends of mine. They are a great inspiration story for other internet entrepreneurs out there.

I originally “met” Collis of Eden.cc when he was still Collis of Good Creative, a top Australian Design Firm. It wasn’t all that long ago that they launched their first internet project FlashDen.net, but they’ve now closed the doors on their Design Firm and are now only producing their own sites.

FreelanceSwitch has done amazingly well since it’s launch only a few weeks ago. In just a short time they’ve built their feed count up to almost 8,000 readers! This quick rise to success can be attributed to the team of people at Eden who definitely understand what a good looking site is and know how to create useful and engaging content.

So I’m recommending this blog to you as not only a place for useful information, but also for people to watch.

Disclosure: This is an unpaid endorsement of FreelanceSwitch & Eden.cc. I have done partnerships with Eden.cc and am a sometimes guest blogger.

We love LifeClever

LifeClever

Lifehacker was one of the first sites we shared some love with way back when. LifeClever may sound related in some way, but it’s far from it. Written by Chanpory Rith, LifeClever provides guides and resources for organizing yourself, increasing your productivity, and how to involve intelligent design in bettering your life. Being one of the cleanest minimalistic blogs out there doesn’t hurt either.

We love Presentation Zen

Presentation Zen

This is one of those cases where you have to dig through the archives because it’s hard to believe that you haven’t already featured the site. Presentation Zen is one of the few blogs that never disappoints.

We’ve all led or attended large and small presentations, most of which probably could’ve used a bit of help from Presentation Zen. The way you share a story, pitch a business or present any information can’t get by on your typical powerpoint templates nowadays. To learn not only how to spice up your presentations, but rethink your storytelling process altogether, you have to read Presentation Zen, one of the few if not only blogs specializing in such a craft. I’m worn out from all that loving. Just go visit and subscribe to PZ.

We love Juxtaviews

juxtaviews

We all know someone that knows everyone. They introduce you to celebs at parties, address a-listers by their first name, and make you the most envious person in the room. Juxtaviews is the equivalent of that person, only nicer.

If combining a juxtaposition and interviews results in an inside look at Cambrian House, Feedburner, David Seah, and Threadless among others, we like that combination. That’s exactly what Juxtaviews is, a collection of interviews with some blog and business superstars that we all wish we had the courage to interview ourselves.

If you haven’t been there yet, head over to Juxtaviews. You’ll love it as much as we do. Maybe you’ll even see a YGG interview on there someday. ;)

Indexed

indexed

If you have the slightest sense of humor, Indexed will have you rolling almost every day. Written and sketched by Jessica Hagy, Indexed is visual blog powered by 3″ x 5″ index cards. Her topical hilarity ranges from business, to pop culture, to every aspect of life. She is quickly becoming a micro-superstar on the web and her sketches are essential reading for anyone and everyone. If you enjoy a bit of tongue in cheek humor, you’ll love Indexed as much as we do.

Bloggertalks

Much like real life, the blogosphere has it’s own list of celebrities. Bloggertalks is the Inside Edition that interviews these blogging celebs one-on-one. From Darren Rowse to Matt Craven, if you’d like to hear how some of the big and somewhat famous bloggers have made their mark, Bloggertalks is a great place just for that. That’s why we love them.

BuzzFeed

BuzzFeed, a recently launched news filter, is a simple alternative to the complex world of aggregation. Like Techmeme, BuzzFeed displays the most popular stories but for pop culture, not just tech. If you’re a news junkie and don’t have enough time to sort through all the rif-raf you’ll love BuzzFeed as much as we do.

Zecco

Zecco is a free alternative to trading stocks. You don’t pay any comission for irregular trades and day traders can do up to 40 trades a month at no cost.
