The most annoyingly amusing ringtone you’ll ever hear. Get it while it lasts.

var digg_url = “http://www.younggogetter.com/2007/07/17/the-most-annoyingly-amusing-ringtone-youll-ever-hear-get-it-while-it-lasts/”;

I fell in hate with this song as soon as I saw it on Digg last night. Wikipedia says:

“Macarron Chacarron (usually shortened to Chacarron) is a hit Spanish-language song by El Chombo feat. Andy’s Val Gourmet, …

9 things I learned about business from The White Stripes

var digg_url = “http://digg.com/music/9_things_I_learned_about_business_from_The_White_Stripes”;

About a week ago, I managed to squeeze in a concert right after work. The White Stripes were nearing the end of their Canadian tour and made a stop in Toronto, before heading East to celebrate their 10th anniversary in Nova Scotia.

The venue for the event, The Molson Amphitheatre, wasn’t ideal for such a band, but Jack and Meg made the most of it to nearly a full house.

While trying to dodge the effects of beer marked up well over 200%, I made some mental notes on the concert and how The White Stripes performed as a business, as opposed to a band.

Here are some of the points/lessons I pulled from the concert, or at least what I could remember:

A gigantic leap for e-commerce

Choosing an open source e-commerce application is kind of like shopping in the bargain bins. Everything is a few models old, none of it matches today’s style, a good portion of it is damaged beyond repair, and in the end you get what pay for.

Open source, in many realms of the online world of apps, can mean an incredible application. But for some reason, e-commerce was never a part of that goodness. You have osCommerce, Zen Cart, phpShop, and all the other clones. When they were first released several years back, they were great. But with thousands of hacks and fixes slapped on, no update to the UI or standardization of code, they resemble a war vet covered head to toe in bandages.

Finally…….finally, finally, finally, a new application is joining the game, and in my opinion, will do to it’s market what vBulletin did with forums and Apache with servers, dominate!

So that diet I was supposed to go on…

Well I did it. And I weigh 172lbs today, down from 190lbs about 8 weeks ago. Thanks Adam.

I wanted to just write quick follow up post about Adam Gilbert and who I introduced to you on April 25th. I started his MyBodyTutor program around that time and followed it to a T. During our initial phone conversation he customized a diet plan that would work for me based on my current vices and dislikes so that I’d be comfortable with the food right from the get go. He also came up with an exercise plan for me with some basic exercises to expedite the weight loss which were hardly excruciating and took just about 30-45 minutes a day, 3-4 days a week.

Like a Mac, his program just works. I think the 18lbs I’ve lost and the incredible change my body has went through is evidence of that.

A must do to improve your website’s page rank

For anyone that hasn’t already heard me ramble on about page ranks, it’s a number that Google assigns to your website based upon the amount of incoming/outgoing links, search engine optimization, and traffic. The higher the score, on a scale of 1-10, the more various ad networks will pay you.

Quite a few of us in the Forum hop on over to a page rank checker every month or so in hopes of a boost in our rank. You can check your current number at a site like PageRank Checker.

What you may notice is that your URL with and without the www. can have different page ranks. This is because some people may have forgotten to include the www. when linking to your site, or they copied and pasted exactly what was in the address bar in their browser.

If you were to visit a couple of our member’s websites, you’d notice that it doesn’t automatically include the www. if you don’t type it (Aaron’s BlackRock’s Business Ideas and Kevin’s KMull.com for example). Whereas, another young go getter’s site, Kineda, does automatically do it.

So how did Terry at Kineda get this to work? Quite simply.
