There are some awesome free tools such as SugarCRM and premium tools like SalesForce for client management, but what other tools are out there, and what’s best for a startup?

It may sound crazy but I used to keep a customer list and follow up information in an excel spreadsheet!
That doesn’t sound crazy at all. I did the same thing in Google docs when I first started out. Time consuming, but effective and best of all NO LEARNING CURVE
Excel is timeless. I love it!
