That is hilarious - why did they ban it? I didn't see anything worth banning it over.

That was part of the launch campaign for the Xbox 360. It got banned mainly because it makes shooting real people look like a helluva lot of fun. I think one of the other spots in the campaign, here, is also great.

I don't know if you realized it or not, but this ad is still being "aired" (even tho it's banned from mainstream) - through the internet. Plus, it even created a mini-buzz.

    I think thats pretty interesting.

Even the word "banned" and the state of it being banned gives you the compulsion to see the ad. What people can't get, people want. If Microsoft intended for this (i don't think they did), it's a pretty damn smart strategy. But nothing new, just rarely used.

That's exactly why Go Daddy goes through over a dozen ads each year. They create them just to get them banned from the Super Bowl. And yes, you're right, people will search for them. The only problem is that you have to make the search worth it. And Go Daddy didn't.

HAHA those are both great videos! Any ideas on why the second one (jumping rope) was banned?

Jumping rope wasn't banned. Just the gunfight one that was first posted. The third ad in the campaign is this, which is just as interestingly strange and different.

I dont no what it is about those ads. They just seem like so much fun. Can u imagine a water-fight that included everybody in ur town. That makes me smile just thinking about it.

Thats probably the first advert i've seen where i've sat back and said WOW, now thats cool. Really effective marketing.
