I'll be launching an ecommerce venture centered around hip hop jewelry within the next two months (hopefully by the end of this one). So I've been thinking of a few potential names and I wondered if anybody has any opinions, either from just an "I like/don't like it" perspective or a more business perspective. And of course if they all suck, or you have a better idea, offer it. Without further adieu:

    www.genuine-bling.com
    www.true-bling.com
    www.genuineice.com
    www.blingofthestreets.com
    www.thehiphopjewelryshop.com

    Thoughts?

www.thehiphopjewelryshop.com is awesome - got a great ring to it.

You can buy www.thhjs.com as a shorter domain to market - but the name The Hip Hop Jewelry Shop is hot.

You might not want to list any names that are available otherwise someone might go ahead and register it from under you.

argh forgot to add my pick...

I like www.thehiphopjewelryshop.com as well. It is catchy.

Thats true...but...how else is he supposed to get feedback. No one here is going to rip you off, and for $8.95 you should go register any potentials right away. www.godaddy.com

I suppose you're right, but I don't feel that threatened here. I will be registering these within the next 1-2 days. I tend to like www.thhjs.com as well, maybe register that as well as the longer version, and one of the others to fall back on.

Yeah, "The Hip Hop Jewelry Shop" is awesome. It's long, but very easy to remember. You should probably register both domains http://www.thehiphopjewelryshop.com and http://www.thhjs.com

My upcoming business name is Revologix, so I grabbed up http://www.revologix.com and http://www.revologics.com. Mine isn't nearly as self explanatory as your name, but I intend on building it as a brand.

Yeah I'm loving that name. I always buy a shortened version for putting onto stickers, shirts, and other stuff. A big url can be hard to market on promotional stuff, so using both shouldn't confuse users and be very beneficial.

Genuineice.com and thhjs.com are good. Maybe you can get a couple of them and have them re-directed to your main shop.

The ice isn't genuine though :? That's why I didn't mention that as a good possible.

If you did Genuine Ice, you could be on Front St. lookin' for a ride

THHJS, its okay, not very sure though in my opinion, as it is kind of long and needs something for rememberance. Just my 2 cents though.

Great choice IMO - btw, I have been on the totallyice list for a long time, they seem to have a good solid reputation and they're very active with their customers. They shouldn't let you down. How long have you been doing business with 'em?

Not long at all- I showed their non-wholesale site (www.totallyice.com) to a couple friends last month, and explained that I would be doing something similar soon, but they wanted spinner watches immediately so I dropshipped a couple, and then I got a few more inquiries just from them wearing the watches around. So I'd figure 3-4 weeks and I've dropshipped around twenty pieces through them.
