    Well, after many months of anticipation, i've finally procured myself a copy of macromedia studio mx via a buddy of mine (woot woot!) now, after perusing the programs, i am overwhelmed and am going to need a good tutorial book / website. any suggestions? thanks again guys.

    Lynda is OK - I would just mess around and read up free tutorials online.

    You can check out web design forums too such as SitePoint www.sitepoint.com. Just search online for Macromedia Dreamweaver Tutorials and you will find a crap load of results...you just have to find the good ones from there :-)

    I just started CD-2 of Lynda for Flash 8. I'm pretty happy so far, getting excited to start learning the more in depth stuff.

    Pay VERY close attention when it starts talking about "masks" and what not...you wont believe how important it is.

    I'm past at least the initial chapter on masking (I don't know if there are anymore chapters on it).

    I just finished the Chapter on Buttons (Ch13). CH14 is movies, and then CH15 is actionscript and stuff like that(what I'm most interested in).

    Its surprising how interested you can be in something. I sit in Engineering classes all day and think about how much this stuff is boring and then I do this, and am actually excited about it.
