    Great site Eric and Joey!

For those who don't know me, my name is Karen and I own and operate 4 Internet companies (3 are holding companies for about 40 domains), 1 real life company, and another one under development.

My interets are real estate investing and creating new residual income streams.

I hope to be able to give back to this community so if I can help, please feel to ask.

    Karen

    Karen,

I didn't know you had 4 internet companies - what are they? Care to share?

I would be interested to hear more as well. I just started my first web endeavor in about 5 years (besides my company web site), and I have got to say, it is different. The technology itself is still the same, but the marketing game has completely changed. However, I have been able to adapt very well, and I have about 400 unique visitors a day (on day 3). It is crazy, because it is just a simple blog (I guess simple is the wrong word, because I have had to tweak so much code). I am definitely a "do it yourself" kind of guy, but my entrepreneurialism is getting in the way of that, so the blog seemed like a simple way to do what I want.

I was looking into becoming a partner of the website LinuxHelp.net/.ca, but the two guys who own it just want to sell it. They make about $300/mo off of it. I told them if they made me an equal partner, I would do all the work do update and promote it (as they have ignored the site), and then we could try and sell it in 6 months to a year.

They have been moving slowly, so I started this site that drills down a very specific niche, within a somewhat specific niche, and I think I am going to easily surpass $300 in my first month, without selling any products.

If this goes well, I will probably become a crazy blogger in my spare time... like I have any. But I figured that I need 3 clients for my main company before I can leave my job. So, if the blogging goes well enough, maybe I can jump ship with one or two. Further, I have been scouring the job ads looking for companies that are in need of help. They want to hire someone part time to do some work. I could get what they need done in less time than they expect, and probably charge them half as much as the base hourly fee they would charge the part-timer. That would save them big on employment benefits.

I have become even more motivated today... my colleague looks as if he is about to get fired. The sneakiness and deceit at the company I work for has become too much. I do not think that my job is in any danger (at least, within the timeline that I have set for myself to leave), but it really peaves me to see this happening. So, I am going to try and get a client and do this blog thing, and maybe I can geel good enough to jump ship... after all, the strongest swimmers jump first.
