Hey All,
Most people here know me from YoungEntrepreneur (am I allowed to say that here?)
Started my first business when I was twelve, been at it ever since. For the past five years I have run a web site design and internet marketing company over at http://www.mpnetwork.ca/
Im also a full-time student in undergraduate Medical Science at University of Western Ontario. I have been accepted into the Richard Ivey School of Business starting next fall.

Your new site looks great - it is new right?
And yes, you can say YE - that's a good site, we're just going to be better ;)

You beat me as usual, to what i was going to say :)

Its actually 4 years old. :? But thanks.
A new web site for mpnetwork.ca and mypromote.ca is almost up. The layout and flash are finished, I just need to complete the web copy.
We've had all new marketing materials (except the web site) since Jan/Feb, but with the web site it just hasn't been a priority (because the existing one works well and I still get lots of comments along the line of 'your web site looks great').
I do still want to get the new site online, because it will be even more effective, and it will better showcase our products & services. Things have just been so busy...

Do you do your hosting in house or are you a reseller? Remember that Skatewhale guy from YE? He had a great program - I'm using him now and my hosting is bulletproof and CHEAP! He's got a reseller program if you're interested.

Hosting is done in house, we run 3 dedicated servers out of Affinity in FL. I would highly recommend them.
Although yes, skatewhale from YE seems like a neat guy. :D VERY eager to please and seems to know the tech side of things too, and that's great to see in a web host.

Yeah the customer service has been unreal - but good to hear you do it in house, thats rare these days. It's usually just a spawn of a hosting conglomerate somewhere!

Yeah, I've done hosting inhouse on my own servers from the start.
If their web site is down, most clients wouldn't know to differentiate between me and a web host. Because I host just my clients on these servers, I can ensure improved stability and performance.
It also provides my clients with one point of contact, and I have total control over the servers (which comes in handy when developing some custom apps).
Plus, after 1/2 a year I was breaking even on hosting, after 5 years it is a very excellent source of recurring revenue.

I tried the hosting business but I never really hit it that hard as far as going out and drumming up business. It's such a great half-way passive income. I used to work for a company, NetRiver, here in Spokane and I think they're cutting a pretty fat hog on a monthly basis with their hosting.

Anyway - do you have a reseller program or do you do it all yourself?

I only offer hosting to my clients. There is no reseller program, although a couple of my designers host their freelance clients on my servers.
-
Is this your only job/income stream right now?
Proud founder of YGG -
Yes, I do this full time.
