I bought NikonCameras.net on a forum for $6, renewed it for $9. Just discovering I am going to run into trademark issues even if it was just a review site.

Now I need to get rid of it... hmmm

Spend a month building it up a little and then try to flip it if you can show a little revenue coming in, you can probably get your money back.

    Yeah agree with Chris.

Build a 10 page minisite, and write a couple of short reviews about particular cameras. Then on other pages, write generic articles on "How To Take Pictures In The Dark" or other ones like that.

Then, make a custom header graphic on Photoshop - just needs to be something simple, and bung on WidgetBucks, AuctionAds or affiliate links (through CJ or other). Maybe Adsense too.

Then go to DigitalPoint telling them that you've created an affiliate/multi-income stream site. No revenue/traffic. Should go for anything between $10-50 IMO, depending on how well you can sell it!

How much is your time worth?

You've spent $15 on the domain so far. I understand you're trying to re-coup that, but given the time it would take to build a mini-site of any value, do you really want to get in the hole further?

Say you spend 3 hours making a mini site, posting for sale and dealing with the responses. Even if you sell it for $30, you're only make $15 profit for 3 hours work, or $5/hour. Wouldn't you rather spend your time on something more long lasting?

Might be better to just cut your losses and move on. Park it somewhere for the rest of your registration period and maybe you'll make a little bit back.

I definitely agree with Mubs. Walk away. The best thing to do here is nothing at all.

I agree with Eric and Mubs. Lesson learned. Screw it. Don't waste any time trying to build a site and fill it with ads. No ones going to visit it and you'll never get that time back again.

Throw it up on Sitepoint and ask for $10.

Time is money, so spend it all procrastinating and discussing the issue in depth on YGG!
