    Hey all,

Was wondering if any of you play around in the stock market?

If so, what broker do you use?

I'm looking for a broker for a college student budget. I have $6,000 I can work with, but I really don't want any major fees (is it just me or does $15 per transaction seem like a lot?), also I'm kinda new at this, but I think the fools may be able to help me get going.

    Thanks!

Get Jason to step in on this. He's been trading like a mad-man everyday for the past couple of months.

I do a mixture of long, medium and short term investing (using options on the short term stuff). I'm in Canada so I use TradeFreedom and CIBC Investor's Edge, although I need to move away from TradeFreedom because their options trading is horrible. I wish I could use ThinkOrSwim, it seems to be the standard for options traders.

Depends on why you're investing. If you are in it for the long term (low number of trades) that is different than wanting to day trade. BTW, I wouldn't recommend day trading. :)

I use Firstrade. $6.95/trade once you get them to remove all of the paper statement and confirmation fees ($1-2/trade). Schwing!
