    Plugged.

Hatch That - interviews with entrepreneurs.

Obviously it's quite empty right now, but anyone got feedback?

I like it. If you're able to keep the interviews going, you'll build a nice collection.

The one thing I'd recommend is enabling comments. You may not initially get many, but they're good to have down the road.

I wasn't thinking VentureVoice, a bit more like Juxtaviews.

The concept of interviews has been around for a little while, to say the least, so albeit nothing radical, unique interviews with entrepreneurs we haven't already heard from, are always welcome.

I've seen VentureVoice and its cool, but it is a podcast and doesn't update much. I hadn't seen Juxtaviews but it seems cool too.

I didn't design it thinking it was a unique idea, mailing lists have been around forever. But there are unwritten interviews that I'd like to read, so I'm going to write them :) I also haven't blogged for a while and writing is fun so it's good to have a platform.

I'm holding off on comments until I get some decent traffic to the site. I think its bad to launch a site that seems empty (there are soo many directories guilty of this) and so they are turned off for now, I'll probably enable them at some time down the track though.

That depends on your definition of big I suppose. I've got a hit list of potential targets and I'm sure they will all have interesting things to say. Any Requests?

I always enjoyed the YGG interviews - have you got any more of those lined up?

Ok I've dobbed myself in here for a weekly post at HatchThat. Do you guys have a posting schedule or method that you follow, and how do you stick to it? (other than cheating)

    Lol.

A load of bloggers say that they follow a plan and always have posts left in the reserve tank. But tbh I always go with the flow, never have anything planned and try and write about a thought that pops into my head.

I try to post at least once every 2 days and I normally post at around 6 pm GMT. If I post at any other time I future post it to release for morning time in the US.

Well I got the second one out. I think the posting process will be really streamlined soon which should make it fast and easy to get done.

I've got my hitlist and a big list of questions which can be personalised to suit each person and mixed in with anything that comes to my head when reading about them and writing the intro.

It's funny, only after making an interview site am I finding all the existing ones that are out there. There are heaps!

As I think I've already said I'm keeping HatchThat as low maintenance as possible. No podcasts, no video, just pure text.

Same goes for interviews. If I send an email with a few questions (good questions hopefully) and they don't respond I'm not going to keep trying. Most of them I ask if I could interview them before writing questions so that I don't waste time there either.

As for the secret - just keep it really simple so that all they have to do is say "yes" in reply to your email. Outline all the important stuff so they don't need to ask a question.

Once you've got that send the questions and don't talk BS.

Eg Hi, here are the questions for the interview, question 1-5, thanks again, I'll let you know when it is published.

Ok thanks for that Ross - some great tips here. Maybe that should be one of your articles on HatchThat, "10 Tips To Get Interviews With The Best". ;)

    Cheers buddy.

Yeah I'm still thinking about what direction I want it to take, while it would be easy to spin out articles like "10 tips for email interviews" etc it isn't really original - there are lots of blogs that do a good job of that already. Who knows. I might bust out some articles in the future but for now its just 1 interview a week :)
