Ideas & Concepts: Mobile Based Content?

Hey everyone,
I've been kicking around the idea of starting a site for entrepreneurs dedicated for viewing on a mobile browser. A lot of people mess around with the web on their phones or PDAs and I was thinking about creating a worthwhile place to go for tips, inspiration, etc...
How does everyone feel about mobile browsing? Does anyone think this is a viable idea? I've been thinking about this for a while and I think there is a growing audience but I get some disagreement, so I was looking for some input
Thanks,
Matt -

I would think its a bad idea really, personally when I'm not at work i prefer not to be working...(I class reading YGG and rss feeds work :))
I wouldn't use a mobile devices for this kind of information, maybe for something like restaurants and such but i would prefer to read stuff on a large screen.I don't think it would be popular enough to be successful.
Have you thought about a website for entrepreneurs dedicated to projects for the mobile and mobile content?

yeah, I'm not really sure about this one. It would be a hard thing to sell and to compete with businesses already up and going with RSS feeds such as YGG and my site RADReality.com and many others.
Although, anything is possible, it just depends on how big your marketing budget is.

Matt not sure about how everything works in the rest of the world but in Australia (Jam and I) I don't think it's worth thinking about mobile at this stage unless you are affiliated with a carrier. Phone markets are different everywhere though.
In general, when people are using their mobiles are they looking for relevant local information or more likely to be just browsing? I know I'm looking for stuff, but when using public transport everyone has a phone out to fill in time. Is there any industry surveys out there you can check out?

Let me tell ya - if YGG can't make money on the big screen, you'll be hard pressed on the small one :)

Thanks for the input guys. I've been thinking a lot about what everyone has been saying and may have changed my approach a little bit. Perhaps instead of a resource site, a blog with content from a number of good business bloggers. Most blogs, including mine, don't have a way to access their content via mobile phone, so maybe it could be a place to aggregate the best small posts from great business minds.

Make it a feature of your website to be able to view it on your mobile and advertise it on the non-mobile site.
Use a different stylesheet and just show the homepage content...
People that know of your site and goto it often will use the service. I don't think there is a market for it but you could get a hand full of mobile readers. -
I would probably read some biz blogs on a mobile phone - but there's surely a service out there that aggregates RSS for mobile phones already.
