Advertising & Marketing: I need a logo

I need a logo. I don't know who here is good at graphic design. I'm proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator, but I'm sure there's someone here that's much better.

Here's the specs:

The company:
Creativity Goblin
You can read the history behind the name. The name will simply be used as a face for my entrepreneurial endeavors. Yes, I know this is incredibly generic, but truthfully I'm not sure where I'm going to go with it.

Requirements:
The logo must be clean enough that it can be used in black and white or what have you.

I would need the source material (the multi-layered Photoshop or Illustrator files), and the rights to edit them to my liking.

Payment:
I of course could pay, or trade services. I'm very good at web development. If you look at my website you'll find that the code is very clean and structured, but the design is ... spartan.

Should you want pay instead of a barter: I'll be honest, I don't know how much I'm looking to pay. I tend to design for friends, not the other way around. So give me a bid and we'll work it out.
