    Hello all!

I am a freshman at Lehigh University in the Computer Science and Business (CSB) program.

I often have crazy business ideas that may or may-not work. One of these days I'm going to act on one of them. I'm still trying to figure out how to separate those crazy ideas from ones that could be legitimate, practical businesses. You can read my thoughts on it.

I plan on being an active member of this community, it sounds like tons of fun!

Welcome to YGG Alex, happy to have ya! I have crazy ideas all the time too, in fact I always have my laptop or a pen & pad next to my bed because most of them happen in dreams or right after I wake up and I just have moments to jot them down or they're gone forever.

    Welcome Alex!

I'll second Eric, write them down! Quickly! I've got a huge text document here with all mine, which I transfer them to from notes on my phone - since that goes everywhere with me.

It's interesting because after reading through it not long ago there were some strong trends in what I was putting down, and now I can see that I can take the main ones and mix them up to come up with something that is hopefully cool.

Can't wait to see what you do.

I'm Ross from Thrive. See my log and HatchThat.

I use DEVONthink on my Mac and you can have a slew of text documents of different ideas and then tell the program to cross reference them for you and it'll actually find some similarities or links that you might not have thought of. Pretty nifty tool - especially for researchers.

Eric actually on the mac I've gotten to like Notational Velocity or VoodooPad.

I was using VP for a while, but I truly have begun to love NV. It's fast, password protected, incredibly simple and keyboard oriented. Merlin has a good write up about it.

For holding stuff like PDFs and such I tend to use KIT, but that's just a matter of choice.

Powerbook G4, hopefully replacing it with a brand new MacBook or MacBook Pro this summer.

so are you going to get a minor in entrepreneurship at lehigh? unfortunately, i was a senior when they announced plans to introduce this minor. i'm curious to see how the program is developing.

btw, in my opinion, history8 is the best class at lehigh related to entrepreneurship.

    Hey Brian,

Cool to see another person from Lehigh on the board. Go Hawks!

Anyway, as far as an entp. minor, I was thinking about it, but the major I currently have doesn't leave much room for it. I'll decide after the next semester (1st semester sophomore year) if I can fit it into my schedule, or if I want to switch majors to a more accommodating major like Business Information Systems. One of my friends is currently in CSB and is switching to BIS with possible minors in Entp, Marketing and Design. If I could ever have the time in my schedule I may follow his footsteps with that.

My current major of CSB has a great emphasis on computers and business (great name for it right?), but it's really geared for the technology auditing field and a job with the "Big 4," something I'm not too keen on at the moment.

    I looked into History 8

Traces the evolution of modern American technology, including automobiles, aircraft, computers, nuclear weapons, television, space, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Includes critiques of technology such as environmentalism. The interactions of technology and culture, society, politics, and the economy will also be addressed. (SS) Smith

Sounds very interesting, thanks for the tip!
