I have been looking around for site layouts that I like for the past bit. I am redesigning my site right now and I am having trouble deciding on what I want.

The site is going to have 6 sections which includes a blog and portfolio among other things. The main thing I want to do is keep it simple and clean. I really enjoy the YGG site layout as well as a few others.

What sites (preferably personal/portfolio) do you enjoy and think are done extremely well design wise?

Maybe YGG should release their WP theme for free download. YGG would get a ton of free backlinks.

I've always been a fan of kottke.org, it has been around for a long time and the style hasn't changed much.

YGG isn't interested in having a lot of sites that look like it.

    Hehehehe. I agree.

I saw a list a few days ago that featured some nice new Wordpress themes. Let me dig around.

Found it. A couple that were mentioned:

    FFF Theme:

Possibly the nicest free theme I've seen to date.

    Blogging Pro Theme:

With a bit of tweaking you can make this theme unique. It's a great starting point nonetheless.

I just designed a theme today for my blog and think I'm going to release it once it's coded. It's pretty simple, but really like how it turned out. Check my blog to see the screenshot

I like your design a lot but would like a design that had a header image.

Also, it would be nice for developers to have a theme that looked more like a traditional website and could use for client sites.

That would probably get a lot of backlinks from developers needing sites for companies.

If you're going for pure simplicity, my blog epitomizes that. Not sure it's a great example of good design, but it is simple.

I enjoy your site, it could use a little more colour, but its a great example of simplicity done well.

I am putting up a whole website though, not just a blog so I need something that feels a little bigger.

My design is almost done, keep your eyes open in a few weeks as it will be launched (once these dreaded exams are done with)
