They did mention that it will take a bit longer than usual to dry, like 45 minutes to an hour - I don't see that as a problem.

Have you researched how quiet these things are!? They're supposedly so quiet that you don't even notice them on. TIDAOW!

Yea, that's mostly due to it not having a food processor (thus the manual trap). Those things make a helluva lot of noise.

I need to get a pic of the back deck put up here too, it's all framed in and the lid is up on the covered portion.

I don't want to jinx it either, but I think I have my current house sold - what a relief that will be!!!

    Dude -- AWESOME!

Very nice... we've made a lot of progress on ours as well. Dishwasher is sitting in the kitchen waiting to get installed with the cabinets.

We just changed all of our doors from standard 6'8" to 8'. Forced us to cut and re-do all door studs and headers. (Thanks Cam)

It looks absolutely stunning now though, probably the best afterthought that we've had thus far. The doors tower over you and make it much more grand.

Speaking of grand...at what point in being over budget do you just say f*** it and stop caring altogether?

Re: the recess lighting or cove lighting:

It can be a bit of a pain in the ass to change the lightbulbs given how high up they are. Also you'll have a problem if you need to replace the bulbs and they don't have any of the warm bulbs shown in the picture, one cool colored lightbulb will look very ugly next to all warm ones. ... Just my 2cts.

The house looks awesome though. Congrats!

The cove lights aren't actually visible, they're behind the crown molding so one light probably won't be noticeable. This is my first experience with it, however, so I'm just guessing.

We might even hold off on the cove lighting for now. For what we want to do it's pushing past $10,000 for that add-on (WTF!) and we've got other things to budget for first.

It's what our beavers collect at the end of a hockey game. Now, stop asking aboot a cheque.
