Well Al Gore kind of announced he'd run for president...

I think he can do more good outside of the presidency at this point. He's got a lot of momentum getting behind causes and should keep up what he's doing now.

First he was denied presidency by a miscount. Now he was denied by a closing music track. Poor guy.

You really think he'll do it?

I think a large percentage of Americans consider him to be a hippie, and wouldn't have much of a chance against Clinton and Obama.

As an Australian (and only seeing our media coverage) it sounds like Al Gore has a great chance in the election.

Good luck to them all :)

Maybe he can promote a healthy earth while puddle jumping in his personal mega-jet-fuel burner.

On top of that his 10,000 sq. ft house that uses $1,200 in electricity a month.

Granted he's doing some good things but live what you preach.

I'm definitely not standing up for Gore, but I think he does buy green energy to offset his personal use. Still ridiculous, but at least he's buying the green energy to offset it.

    The jet setting... definitely stupid.

I would imagine that he would offset it all, and you could claim that he offsets anything he personally does by all the people he affects :P Still a poor excuse but eh..

Why offset? Why not just do 100% good? Isn't that what he preaches? He's a bozo.

Can you tell I don't care for him much?

I don't think I can - but name 1 politician that preaches as much as Al Bore. He's got a totally captivated audience that actually believes his fluff.

I know someone who watched his movie, went out and ditched their regular car and got all bio-dieseled up to start saving the planet "along with him". They've since had to buy ANOTHER car because the diesel beetle couldn't make it up steep hills in the snow and it's cost them over $3,500 in depreciation in less than 3 months. Sure it wasn't the best decision...but as they're drowning in the debt of the car, this a-hole is out there flying around to his 4 chateu's burning up more fuel in a month than the average American does in a year (or more).

It's all about the story he tells. It's a great story, ie platform for presidency. Even if he doesn't drive an eco-friendly car, or recycle his trash.......his movie and speeches have gotten hundreds of thousands of people to. That's all that really matters.

Al Gore doesn't have a chance in hell to run for presidency. He may put his hat in the ring but he'll get blown away.

Eco friendly isn't main stream enough to become an entire platform.

Agreed - it's a concern...but we have a war going on, no one is really going to give two shits about Gore's "possible" global warming.

I bet the East Coast would have loved some global warming a little while ago when they had 10+ft of snow.

Don't get me wrong I agree that we need to be extremely more conscious than we have and need to take more proactive steps to improve our environment.

I just don't think it's going to get someone to the presidency.

Yeah, I don't think he has a chance if he decides to run.

What I think we forget though is that he did win the Presidency were it not for the miscount b.s. Even if you don't think he should of won, half of America did 8 years ago.

The difference this election is that he wouldn't be facing someone like Bush. Obama, Clinton, and McCain are much tougher competition of which none have an evil stigma associated with them, at least not the size of Bush's.

I really don't think Barack Hussein Obama stands a chance. He's a political newborn when compared to the other candidates. He's also a man of color which unfortunately is going to affect his vote in many parts of America. Sad but true.

Clinton doesn't have evil stigma associated with her, she is evil stigma. Have you ever seen/heard her talk to people in the south? She turns into Hillary J. Blige and starts snapping her finger in circles "You know what I'm talkin' about...Oh no he di-int" - She's also a woman, which will weigh in on voting day.

McCain is decent I suppose, but hard to read. I don't think he's got it in the bag either. Plus he's 71 or 72 years old...we better really like the vice president in his case.

I really hope Hillary doesn't win.

Personally I would vote Libertarian but they never have a chance in hell. In my opinion democrat vs. republican is just choosing who you want to get screwed by.

I tend to go democrat now because I can't stand the conservative christian stuff that most republican candidates bend over backwards about.

I vote Libertarian too. Unless someone really shows up as a strong candidate to vote for I'm going Libertarian regardless of whether they have a strong candidate just to show my dissatisfaction with the 2 party crap.
