Here's the ongoing story of a guy (Aaron Stanton) who will not stop until he get's Google to listen to his idea. He hopped on a plane to sit in their lobby until someone heard him out.

It didn't work out quite like that, but so far, so good. Read the story! It's fabulous.

Drop him a line, show a lil support - let him know that YGGer's are pullin' for him!

I just watched the videos a few minutes ago and Digg seems to have taken his server down already. No Duggmirror available either.

Good story though. I'd like to see some more details about his idea.

I just got an e-mail back from Aaron and he said he appreciates our support and when the dust settles that he'd love to do an interview for YGG.

That is really inspiring and impressive. It shows that if you just put yourself out there to achieve something, one way or another it will work out.

What I would like to know is:

Why is he taking his idea to a big company like Google? What stops Google from stealing it?

What is he getting out of this? His idea will only make Google more money, not him. It'll probably be made Google's idea, not his. This is the natural of big corporations.

Thomas Edison said, "Everybody steals in commerce and industry. I've stolen a lot myself. But I know how to steal." I'm pretty sure a company like Google knows how to steal too.

I cannot praise him for what he is doing. He's getting praise for his determination. That's all good and great but I think he is being stupid in his decisioning. I really want to be proven otherwise. So, I'm very curious of the brains these man has in the big corporation world. If Google takes his idea and gets what he wants from Google, that is something to praise him about!!

Anyways, I'm starting to see a trend in the internet with these types of individuals. I call them "Internet Heroes". Heroes they are highly praised for their actions from all around the world. Once this is over, it's over. Does anyone remember when this guy's friend cell phone was stolen in cab? He made a website tracking them down with pictures and everything of the culprits? This is the same thing. Once he got the cell phone back it was all over. This is just something I noticed. This 15 min of fame.

I guess we can get the answers to those questions when we interview him.

It is only 15 minutes of fame, like you said, but that makes it something worthy of mentioning down the road. Google probably won't buy his idea or take him on board, but he has a story to help break the ice with anyone in the tech industry and has added a new bullet point to his resume.

I didn't expect anyone to agree with me, but it is the truth. I really want to see him come out on top. Other than the obvious deterministic/optimistic attitude he has, I want to know what is going on in his mind. All we know is he's bringing an idea to Google... I want to understand the what (he is doing more deeply) and why.

About the "Internet Heroes" thing. It was just a small observation. The "Internet Hero" doesn't become one on purpose. It is the effect of the world + internet. The 15 min of fame is the hype surrounding that individual, nothing more. It just dies away when it's all over. Don't take what I'm saying as something negative. I've noticed that it's just the way it is. No doubt on a personal level the guy will be affected by it in his relationship with people, etc.. This "Hero" thing can be a very positive experience for many people, as it has already shown.

I've just seen his latest post. I wish I was in the Bay Area right now to meet him. Maybe I can get my brother to meet him, hmm...
