    Here's the story.

I can't say I'd be doing anything differently in their position :)

It is interesting to see how much Sequoia Capital cashed in though.

I would have did the same as well. Doesn't seem to reflect any negative happenings in Google. If anyone were to go from nothing to $300 millionaires overnight, they'd jump at the opportunity to claim as much of that in one hit.

    More power to them.

So what do you do with $300mil in cash?

I'd stash a sizeable amount in a bank for a start, somewhere very safe. Spend a bit of course - holiday etc. Find a charity to support. Diversify with investments for the rest.

Then I'd probably settle down and start again. Back to business :)

Invest $150 million in stock and real estate, build my $50 million dream mansion, buy a few toys, put $50 million aside to start 50, million dollar ventures, and donate a bit.

Collect interest at a rate of 7%, which would come out to around $21M/year before taxes. I would then use that to think of my next venture, or perhaps become an angel investor. It's interesting, because at that point you're main interest in starting a business is no longer money. With an income of $400K per week, who needs to care about money?

My ventures are never about money anyway, it's just "whatever happens, happens".

    Hi,

Actually, when you make a few million with Sequoia Capital, there's only one thing to do.

You become a Sequoia Limited Partner and give the money right back to them to re-invest.

Stash 150 mill in a bank. Then 50 mill in investments. Then 50 mill to buy things like house, cars, toys, office space, jet, hovercraft, spaceship(:P).
Then 10 mill to start a scholarship fund. then 39,999,9980 to put in a bathtub and fancy myself. then $20 for a custom YGG t-shirt.
