Who here has an 800 number/voicemail combination? I came across a blog posting today about effective ways to market your home-based business and voicemail was on the list. I'm curious to know if anyone here employes that method.

I don't...not at this point. But I gave it some thought and it would actually be nice to have a voicemail system that does a little promoting for you so that if you're busy and can't take a call (or just don't want to) - send it off to voicemail and sell your customers a bit without having to sell at all.

    Eric,

I've actually been considering it. Right now I just use my answering machine and it's kind of lame.

You can get a 800 number voice mail that sounds like a 500 companies for $10 a month.

My web designer has one and it just routes to his cell phone #. Sounds pretty pro.

The link on our sidebar to gotvmail.com (Advanced 800 Numbers is the title) seems like an OK deal. Any other companies out there you guys recommend?

Eric - I can't see that link to gotvmail. In the furthest most sidebar all I can see is Advertise, Sponsored Listing and YGG Sponsors heading. But its definitely something to do with my computer - I realy dont know what's up because Internet Explorer doesnt work at all and some things dont show up in Firefox. I've done all the necessary upgrades but nothing's worked.

    Any solutions?

As for the 800 numbers, my mum has an 0800 number here in the UK but I have no idea how much she paid for it. Its not used very much but shes got it mainly for her Jewellery business clients.

It's one of the sponsored links, in the AdBrite bar.

I can't see it. All I see is the link to "Your Ad Here". Strange...

Try pressing ctrl + F5. If that doesn't work, do you have an ad-blocker installed?

Erm ctrl + F5 doesn't work. But yeah I do have Spybot, Adaware and AVG installed but I havn't run them in a long time - they helped me to get my computer up and running when it was really buggy. Should I uninstall them?

Those apps shouldn't be blocking ads. Something like Adblocker Plus would.

If you don't have that then you might need to clear your cache if you haven't done it in a long time.

And you're sure you don't have any add-ons installed that could be doing this? What Firefox extensions are you using?

Also - have you edited your host file at all?

Do you have "Block ads" checked in the file/options menu?
