General Business: Commission Junction

I just signed up for Commission Junction's affiliate program after writing up an affiliate program post on the.ad.blog
The control panel and options available by each advertiser are amazing. Blows adsense's handful of user customization out of the water. Affiliate programs can really boost online income
I chose the free 10 day gamefly trial which gets me $15/sign up. Not HUGE, but that's half of what my 2 month adsense revenue is.
However if you do run an affiliate program, I have some quick advice...don't pack your website with tons of ads. It will look extremely unprofessional and will probably have adverse affects. I plan on running one on the homepage and thats it.

I got CJ the other day too, hoping to get some GoDaddy stuff. They manually approve and it has been 4 days now :( I guess I'll have to go back and check out what else is on offer.

Some of the instant approvals that I got were the GameFly, 1and1 hosting, dotster, eBay, Gate.com.
I am sure that there are a ton more. And I have 6 waiting approval. Those 6 have some good lead/sale payouts.

Rosshill - what website are you running CJ on?
Haven't got it running on any sites yet, I just wanted to get inside it so that I could check it out a bit. I'll have a look at the instant ones you suggested, thanks.
From anyones experience, how much better than Adsense does CJ pay?
-
The pay on any of those seems to be a lot better but I don't think that it's as easy to convert.

Obviously $25 for a lead on ebay would be nice. But how many people have to see and click your ad to get them to sign up, compared to just running adsense.

I honestly don't think there are enough numbers out there right now to accurately figure that out.

CJ can be disappointing for smaller sites because there isn't any instant gratification. Even though some Adsense clicks only pay a few cents or a buck, it's still feels better than having to wait for someone to click, sign-up for the offer, use it for 90 days, then get your payment sent to you 30 days later.
I'm interested to see how it goes for you guys.
