As some may know I am starting a website TheAdBlog. This is merely my time line journal for it.

The horn? If adsense isnt running on the site by 9pm est tomorrow...i'm pissed.
Its 310am est right now, went to a hot tub party and to a bar after I uploaded my wordpress format. (remember that monday, tuesday, wednesday are the bartender's thursday-friday-saturday). So, when I wake up, I'll format the wordpress, hopefully get that up, add some content, and add some adds.

3:17pm the website is live with the correct wordpress theme. A big step considering I had a ton of trouble with wordpress when I started up DuctFuct and TheReservoirBlogs. But I followed

everytime I try and check it out it shows "under construction"

woops...I better change that! Where do I go about doing that? Because I tried and I angered something.
I'm thinking I need to move all of the stuff in that wordpress folder in to my main directory folder.

5:15pm...I've "unangered" the website but still don't know how to direct everything away from the /wordpress.
Doesnt help that I am watching 24 at the same time.

Just go into your options panel in your WP admin, change your wordpress address to http://www.theadblog.com/wordpress, and make your blog address http://www.theadblog.com.
That should do the trick.

Thanks, I should have it down. I did things in the wrong order and it messed up the files. So hopefully by the morning you'll check this and I'll actually be that smiling monkey in my avatar.

Almost 14hrs after I started this I am going backwards. So much for that wordpress 5 minute install!
I posted a topic on the support forums because I have honestly done everything possible:
I dumped all the files, dumped all of the tables from my host, reuploaded everything, reinstalled wordpress, and still...same result. I have all of the files in highest up file I can go with FTP...which is what I assume the root is. I have my URI's set to www.theadblog.com. Still goes to a parked website.

I got a live site back up behind www.theadblog.com/wordpress (right where the problem started a mere half day ago).
That's the only way i've found to get anything to work. About ready to drop 1and1 hosting and just go with a host that has Fantastico.

Dreamhost, the offer I mentioned in the other thread, offers one-click install. It definitely makes life much easier.

I think I got it figured out. The support forum said that since the dns was recently changed I may not be seeing what other ppl are. They were seeing my webiste at www.theadblog.com and I wasn't able to. I had to type a "/wordpress" extension.
I hope that when I wake up it's all going. My day of adding content to my site ended up being a lot of time just trying to get the site on the right address.

You can also just edit your host file in the meantime - but that just helps you, not everyone else.

finally, the.ad.blog is up and running without any extensions needed to access the main blog.
There was a stupid index.html file that 1and1 kept putting in there, deleted that and bingo!
Now, time for content.
ps- I'm totally doing the del.icio.us thing with the.ad.blog logo.

Well there's been a ton of updates over the past 5 days. Managed to get backlinked from johnchow.com by doing a review for him. That, along with being listed on YGG's directory has put the.ad.blog into the top 916,000 on Technorati. Nothing to brag about but she's coming along.
Plus I've received 7 comments, and the views are going up (usually) every day.

I'm still learning SEO, and I want to figure out tags and how to rename pages and posts to come up with the url of the header. All in time I guess.

When it comes to renaming pages, ie. fixing the permalinks, just do this and do it ASAP!
Go into your wp-admin, click on options on the left, then click on Permalinks in the top options, check "Date and name based" then click the Update Permalink Structure button. That'll help you big time in SEO and is standard practice for every young blog.

Yeah AdVolcano is a great concept. I'd like to see it grow advertisers and publishers. It's kind of AdBrite-esque, but way more user friendly imo.
