What are some questions you would ask if you were joining/starting/consulting to/advising a small business? Let's make a running list... I'll update here at the top. Obviously not all questions apply to all industries... and is there already a list out there on a site that would defeat the purpose of this thread?

    Examples:

    • What is the ROA?
    • What is the ROE?
    • What is Free Cash Flow at? Is this growing?
    • What do liabilities look like?
    • What assets are owned?
    • What is employee turnover for TTM, 2 years?
    • Revenue/Profit/Margin growth in last 3, 6, 12 months?
    • Do we occupy a niche?
    • SWOT analysis questions

    etc. etc.

Which questions would you add? Which do you think are most important?

Well you can sum all those up by saying "bring your business plan, marketing strategy, and financial statements"

Questions outside of those would be:
-Are there plans for expansion (more sites, more product lines, acquisitions, etc.)
-Where does the funding come from for such expansion

Are you you getting into something new KMulligan?
