General Business: What would you like to see on YGG?

Community feedback and suggestion are key in helping any community grow. So what would make YGG kick some serious ass?
If you could add one feature, remove one feature, add 10 features, remove 10 features, what would they be?
What should we do more of, less of?
Who does something well that we don't? What do we do well that someone else doesn't?
Why do you visit YGG a dozen times a day? Why do you visit it only once a week?
What could we do to get members more involved? Where could we find more members? How could we reward our top members? How could we punish our lazy members?
What type of people should we interview? What type of articles do you like to read / don't like to read? Would you like a weekly radio show?
We might use all of your ideas, we might use none of them, we might end up somewhere in between. Wherever these questions take us, it'll be somewhere different than where we are now. Change is always good.

The blog has definitely turned into my favorite component.
Wait...am I allowed to give feedback to myself?

I come to YGG often for the Forum. I like it's more practical topics that can help solve actual business problems. Plus talking about Eric getting probed is pretty fun.
I like the type of business related posts that Darius has done.
I would remove the Top RSS thing. Also, personally I'm not so into the podcast thing but others might.

Just an idea off the top of my head that i would of loved to of seen in the past when i was starting up was a mentor section for particular subjects. Marketing, Ecommerce, etc. etc.
Just an idea :D

I think that would be a great way to reward YGG members. If you win a contest you get free business counseling from the 3 owners.
Win the top voted on Business book
$1,000,000
Design Help.

These are all good ideas, keep 'em coming!

Great ideas guys.

From feedback we've gathered, it appears we have a lot of readers who find what we talk about interesting, but they don't post themselves.
For all of those who fit this category, get a YGG membership (c'mon, it's free!) and post in this topic - we want your feedback too!

Just copied this discussion to the blog for any readers that don't frequent the forum.

I really miss the "sites we love" section. I don't see it on here after the redesign. It just introduced me to some really cool sites that I never would have found on my own.
-
Okay Shawn, we'll try and feature a Site We Love more often.
Maybe we can try and schedule a couple a week like we were before.
-
I'm a fan of it as well. I didn't read it regularly like the forums, but I would go through every now and then and pick some things up. :)
I'd really love a "mark forums read" button. Ah well. ;)
-
Done. You should see a link under the Options section in the right nav when at the main forum page, "Mark All Read". Give it a try and let me know if it works okay for you.

I'll endorse sites we love as well - it was a great feature.

The Sites we Love is still there - you talk about it as if it has been excluded. It's just it's own category in the blog.
-
We'll just try and feature some SWL more often.

I know it takes a lot of time on your guy's part, but some more podcasting would be great! Maybe we can get some member participation to help with putting them together. I would be interested in helping with something like this.
