Have your mug featured on YGG

As I said yesterday, we want to try some new things to increase the interaction and participation here at YGG. One of the ideas I came up with last week was to let the face(s) of our community be the face of our community, literally.

See that mysterious fella’ in the top right corner holding a YGG sign? Yes, that is in fact me, but I’m getting a little sick of myself.

So here’s my idea: shoot a creative picture of yourself holding a YGG sign (see below) and we’ll feature it as our logo. We’ll rotate through all of the submissions so a different young go getter appears each time you view a page.

Maybe we’ll even pick the most creative picture each month and send you a prize.

Being that we tend to be featured in quite a few galleries and articles, depending on who’s pic shows up when the screenshot is taken, you could permanently have your glorious face in some of the popular galleries. That’s D-list stardom right there, baby.

But that’s not all. We’re not big fans of blogrolls (but please don’t stop adding YGG to yours :). We get quite a few requests every now and then to swap links. They’re too boring. So here’s what we’ll throw in to motivate you even more. Be sure to mention your website’s URL when you submit your picture, and we’ll make your pic link directly to your site. How bout that!

Some nice free traffic, and the possibility of hooking up with a supermodel (they’re our biggest market when off the runway).

Here’s what you have to do:

  • Print it out at full size.
  • Take a picture of yourself holding the sign.
  • Try and be creative, funny, interesting, happy. Take it in a nice setting (colours, lighting, background) and make sure the logo can be seen clearly.
  • You don’t have to crop the picture to size, but do remember the final size of the logo box is 385px by 219px. So you’ll want to frame the shot almost like it’s a widescreen setting. Aspect ratio is the same as a business card.
  • Once you have a picture you’re happy with, send a hi-res copy (jpg, tiff, psd, pdf, etc…) along with a brief description, your location (city, state, country) and the website you’d like your logo to link to: hello (at) younggogetter (dot) com.

Once we receive your picture, we’ll crop it to size, do any colour adjustment needed, and add it to the rotation.

So get at it young go getters! If you have any questions, post them in the comments.
