The Start-Up vs. The Corporation February 28, 2006
Kathy Sierra over at Creating Passionate Users created the chart below which illustrates the differences between the small start-ups we run, versus the large corporate powerhouses. An interesting point she made is that "When you evolve out of start-up mode and start worrying about being professional and dignified, you only lose capabilities. You don’t add anything…you only take away. Dignity is deadly."

Great comparisons and I must say its pretty accurate, I just picked up the new Fast Company.
That was a fun read Travis. Of course there are ups and downs to both sides but it certainly rings true.
I think the Culture, Burning Question, and Mission Statement in the chart are right on target. Those three descriptions are what make me wake up each morning to tackle the day on my own, not punch in at 9:00 and report to “the boss”..
