Word of mouth is a great method of marketing yourself. Another great way is to continue writing blogs and articles. I have been using artemis pro, this lets you submit several variations of one article without having to rewrite them. Saves you time and boosts your productivity. I will pass along my word to others about Paramore as well. (Of course I will check it out first) Keep up the good work.

@ Greg - You bring up a great point. I'm not familiar with the bands full history, aside from what I read to write this article, so thanks for sharing more information. It sounds like Paramore has a great connection with their fans and used grassroots marketing to skyrocket to fame quickly. I'm hoping they'll come to the Chicago area for a concert soon! I would definitely go see them.

I think the new music industry model (promoting online, grassroots marketing, myspace) is going to become a base business model for all industries, so Paramore's success could be an important case study for a small business owner. Thanks for again for sharing!

@Dan - I agree with you - hearing the name made me finally check out the band. But Paramore has something more because they also appeal to a ton of different age groups. Even if you heard their name a million times, you wouldn't buy their CD unless the music was good. I don't expect everyone to like Paramore, but I do believe their ability to do a lot of different sounds has aided their success. Thanks for the comment!

The more times you see a name and it's recommended by trustable sources the chances of you at least sampling it improve drastically.

Paramore has been persistent and consistent in their marketing, touring and promotion. IN the past 2 years they have been to Orlando no less than 7 times, with every show producing an increase in fans, which in turn means more albums sold, more merch and the reassurance that they will be back for an 8th time.

There is no doubt that MTV, Fuse and mainstream media have added to their success. The great thing about Paramore is that they would have survived and grown without their help. The internet has been vital to all the bands of Fueled By Ramen and Decaydence. Most of their bands blog, videoblog and use sites like YouTube, Myspace, LiveJournal and Friends or Enemies to keep in constant contact with their fans.

Thanks for helping spread the Paramore juice and shedding some light on what is becoming a middle class for musicians.
