Responding to comments is something I see so many blogs have a problem with. This is what brings new users back, thoughtful conversation with the author.

Every time a post a comment I look forward to the response I get, it actually means a lot.

Dion--

I was the same way. It really can be hard to step out there and let everyone know what you really think, but at the end of the day, it's worth it. Like you said, even if they don't agree, they'll respect you more for doing it.

Good article. I never really thought of optimizing posts as you would the site itself but it makes sense.

When I first started with blogs I was pretty careful around having such strong opinions because I was a little worried about creating conflict but now I embrace it because it separates you from the herd and it challenges other people to think differently about things. Even if they don't agree with your opinion, there's a good chance that you'll create some great conversation or debate.
