Big month for business mags

As you all know, Business 2.0 was axed by Time, Inc. a month or so ago, right when my subscription expired. To my surprise, another issue arrived in my mailbox today, labeled “Collector’s Item: Our Final Issue”.
I picked up my first issue of B2.0 back in September 2002, and until subscribing last year, had rushed to the newsstand each and every month for a copy. The art direction started to go down the drain back in ‘05, but it was still one of the best reads for young go getters. So I’d recommend picking up this “final” issue. (Rambo was resurrected, so it wouldn’t be mad to imagine this mag coming back down the road as a 3.0)
Next, we’ve got Entrepreneur magazine. This month’s issue is the only one I buy throughout the year (sorry, not interested in 50,000 different franchises every issue). This is their annual Young Millionaires issue. The Jakes from Threadless finally made the list, which you can read for free online. I couldn’t read any deeper than the names; don’t want to ruin re-reading the print issue with envy 10,000 times.

I was kind of sad to see Biz 2.0 go down! It was so sudden! Oh well, hopefully Entrepreneur can start picking up some of the slack… (and stop doing that “3000 top franchises to buy” stuff.)

YGG will pick up the slack soon and you’ll quickly forget about B2.0 :)

Haha, I like what Eric said.

I have to pickup a copy of Entrepreneur. The Threadles story is pretty amazing and it shows how far you can go by giving your users a voice.

Definately gonna check this out. I could use a good mag read.

Entrepreneur magazine is terrible. It’s all either blatant ads or thinly disguised advertorials for franchises and pyramid schemes. What I recommend is INC magazine. It’s for real entrepreneurs running real businesses.
Thank me later.
