Mark your calendars — Blog Action Day
Our friends over at Freelance Switch have put an enormous amount of thought and effort into creating an event to better this world. We were one of the first sites to commit to it, and hope you will as well.
It’s called Blog Action Day, and the blogging event is scheduled to take place on October 15th. The idea is simple: 1) Write a post about about an issue or solution that relates to the environment. 2) Donate your advertising earnings from that one day to an environmental charity of your choice.
Some large blogs have already hopped on board (GigaOm, Copyblogger, Reddit, and YGG of course :), and we’re sure, at the end of the day, the list will be gigantic and feature every celeb-blogger you can think of, including yourself.
Take a look at the website for Blog Action Day, watch the video above, then immediately register to have your blog participate in the event. As I said, expect the event to have thousands of participants, and hopefully have an impact on our media, government, and personal priorities.

I completely agree and am surprised that nothing like this has been put together before, seeing as how popular the blogosphere has become.
I read about it originally off the Freelance Switch blog, and enrolled myself immediately. Will likely give it a shout out early on, and then participate on the date (have some ideas in mind already).

Yeah great idea by Collis and Leo – I’ve joined too and hopefully we can make this event recognized worldwide by all the traditional media too.
