Its funny as a designer you sometimes hate the fact that your work fits into mathematical units and is super structured. But you have to remember that sometimes the most beautiful things in the world that evoke lots of emotion still adhere to the golden mean which is another "mathematical formula". And if you run an information and content based site like the examples above, its even more important to improve usability. Great pdf for grids.
